What You'll Do

• Prepare and turn over apartment units by completing painting, drywall, and light repair work
• Perform general building maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repairs
• Support year-round grounds maintenance, including snow removal, landscaping, and trash removal
• Move and set up furniture in apartments and offices as needed
• Respond to maintenance requests and after-hours emergencies when required
• Follow safety, security, and emergency procedures to ensure safe environments for residents and staff
• Provide respectful, customer-focused service aligned with Avivo's values
• Collaborate with Volunteer Services when volunteer support is involved in facilities work
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity of participants in all interactions
• Contribute to Avivo's commitment to undoing racism and reducing disparities through daily practice

Qualifications

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one year of building maintenance or construction-related experience or completion of a trades training program
• Demonstrated ability (or strong aptitude and willingness to learn) basic maintenance skills including drywall, painting, plumbing, and carpentry
• Comfort using power tools and performing physical work (lifting up to 75 lbs, working on ladders, navigating stairs)
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to changing needs
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between Avivo sites
• Interest in working in a mission-driven, people-centered environment
