Billing Specialist

New York City real estate law firm seeks full-time billing specialist. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of legal billing experience, preferably within a mid-large sized law firm. Candidate will report directly to the Director of Client Accounts and will serve as liaison between the billing partners and the billing department in addition to all billing department functions and exhibiting first-hand knowledge of systems to ensure consistency and accuracy of all billing records. Proficient with Excel and Word as well as comparable accounting system experience, like Surepoint, Aderant or Elite is required. Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills needed. Responsibilities: Prepare prebills for attorney distribution Generate, edit and prepare bills Process approved write offs Provide back-up for disbursement charges as needed Research and post cash receipts Must have the knowledge to understand various accounting requests such as correspondence with regard to billed, unbilled, unpaid and cash receipts; research and respond to inquiries accordingly Submit and troubleshoot ebills (LEDES) via intermediaries such as Passport, Counselink, Serengeti, Catalyst and TyMetrix360 Ability to communicate professionally with attorneys and staff #J-18808-Ljbffr
