Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience preferred License: Pending License accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: CVICU experience preferred. No locals within 100 miles. Description: The position requires experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Ratios are 1:2. First-timers are accepted. Weekend requirements are as needed. The clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs. May be floated to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, and PACU to care for admitted patients. Post-Op Open Hearts, bedside tach/peg, and bedside surgical procedures are necessary skills. Experience with CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, SWANNs, ART lines, CVCs, chest tubes, Foley insertion, and NG tubes is required. Common patient diagnoses include CABG, aortic aneurysm repair/dissection, fem pop bypass, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis. Equipment knowledge includes CRRT, ultrasound, monitors, and other specialized devices. The facility is a Level I trauma and teaching facility with a total of 554 staffed beds. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census information is not provided. The unit has a total of 12 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy, among others. The position requires specific skills in managing cardiac patients, use of advanced monitoring, and emergency response.
