Events Director

About the Role At How to Manage a Small Law Firm, events are not simply meetings with nicer lighting. They are where our culture comes to life. We are looking for an Events Director who can take complete ownership of our live events, from the first planning conversation through the final box being packed. Our events happen at least twice each quarter and bring together our team, members, and community for meaningful learning, connection, and momentum. This role is ideal for someone who understands the energy, resourcefulness, and personal attention required when creating events for small-business owners. What You Will Own Plan and execute multiple company and member events each quarter Manage venues, vendors, contracts, schedules, budgets, and event logistics Coordinate travel, room layouts, materials, equipment, food, and special requests Lead on-site setup, event execution, breakdown, and post-event follow-up Work closely with company leaders to translate goals into memorable experiences Anticipate problems and solve them calmly before they affect the event Create repeatable systems, timelines, and checklists without making the experience feel cookie-cutter Ensure every event reflects our standards, personality, and culture What We Are Looking For Hands-on experience planning and producing live events Experience working with small businesses, entrepreneurs, or owner-led organizations Strong vendor management, negotiation, budgeting, and project-management skills Willingness to travel and be fully present for setup, execution, and breakdown Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage many moving pieces Calm, practical judgment when plans inevitably change A service mindset and genuine enthusiasm for bringing people together You Will Thrive Here If You Believe no task is beneath you when the event needs to succeed Can think strategically while still noticing the missing extension cord Take ownership and follow through without being chased Enjoy fast-moving environments and strong personalities Understand that culture is created through hundreds of intentional details Want to build experiences people continue talking about after they go home This is not a sit-back-and-supervise events role.
