Overview The Therapy Aide assists in all aspects of direct and indirect delivery of care to patients. Responsibilities Assist PT/OT with scheduling, referrals, tag creation, and schedule distribution. Transcribe schedules and distribute them to nursing units. Set up, clean up, and assist with patient treatment. Clean and maintain equipment and clean linens and supplies. Perform clerical functions and effective communication/documentation. Document daily schedules and manage tags updated for expected admits. Orient new staff and registry to forms required on a daily basis. Add cues to patients to facilitate treatment. Organize patient/treatment area independently before treatment and attend to set‑up after treatment. Maintain daily temperature logs, equipment checklists, and cleanliness of the gym. Assume responsibility for special projects as assigned by the Department Director/Supervisor. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate problems with supervising therapist related to patient or department operations. Read and understand the policy and procedure manual, including general information for all hospital employees. Demonstrate compliance with safety, hazardous waste, and infection control procedures. Utilize proper body mechanics to prevent injury to patient or self. Work assigned shifts, overtime when approved, and weekends if requested. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including annual updates of emergency procedures. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or related field. At least 1 year experience in a Physical Therapy Department as an aide, utilizing modalities as indicated. Required Licenses / Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained through renewal before expiration. Salary Range Hourly rate range: $21.00 – $29.77.
