TPA Supervisor - Appeals Bureau

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County ("BXDA") is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Trial Preparation Assistant Supervisor to oversee the duties and train the professional staff in the Trial Division. Job Responsibilities Training TPAs to function within their bureau’s requirements. Oversee and track duties of the bureau’s professional staff assignments. Maintain a reduced caseload. Communicate with the Director and Deputy Director as to the productivity of professional staff regularly. Responsible for developing and evaluating the professional staff within the bureau. Administrative management such as maintaining spreadsheets, schedules, coverage, etc. Perform all bureau-related duties as needed or assigned, including but not limited to drafting or typing of correspondence and confidential documents, updating computer-based tracking systems, record keeping, filing, and document preparation. All other duties and projects as assigned. Preferred Skills A baccalaureate degree preferred or a high school diploma with four (4) years of work experience in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization. Minimum 2 years as a Trial Preparation Assistant 2 or comparable paralegal experience. A valid New York State driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience is required and must be maintained for the duration of employment. Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Discretion and integrity to work on highly confidential investigations. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Minimum Qualifications A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community‑centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community‑centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
