Description
  • Assess patients of all ages through a combination of standardized tests and observational evaluations.
  • Craft individualized therapy plans aimed at immediate and long-term communication and swallowing goals.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy sessions that enhance communication abilities, language skills, fluency, voice control, and swallowing function.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to develop coordinated care plans.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families to support continual progress beyond the therapy room.
  • Conduct selected inpatient therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a smooth transition of care in each patient's journey.
  • Keep meticulous records that adhere to clinical, state, and federal regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of industry updates and best practices.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of your Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training must be completed within 30 days of starting.
Skills
  • Strong application of evidence-based treatment practices across all age groups, with a thorough understanding of developmental and acquired communication challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Adaptability in applying therapy techniques that cater to unique cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Solid clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation procedures.
