Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing standardized assessments as well as observational tools.
• Craft tailored treatment plans designed to meet both short-term objectives and long-term goals related to communication, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities.
• Engage in one-on-one speech therapy tailored to individual needs, targeting various aspects such as communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to foster an integrated approach to patient care.
• Provide education to patients and their families, facilitating progress outside of therapy sessions.
• Assist with inpatient therapy evaluations and treatments as needed, ensuring seamless care throughout the healing process.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines and organizational requirements.
• Remain informed on the latest advancements in speech therapy through continuous education and collaborative practice with peers.

Education

• Possession of a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
