- Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing standardized assessments as well as observational tools.
- Craft tailored treatment plans designed to meet both short-term objectives and long-term goals related to communication, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities.
- Engage in one-on-one speech therapy tailored to individual needs, targeting various aspects such as communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to foster an integrated approach to patient care.
- Provide education to patients and their families, facilitating progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Assist with inpatient therapy evaluations and treatments as needed, ensuring seamless care throughout the healing process.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines and organizational requirements.
- Remain informed on the latest advancements in speech therapy through continuous education and collaborative practice with peers.
- Possession of a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment for all demographics, complemented by a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to build rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to modify therapy techniques according to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Exceptional clinical judgment coupled with adept problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and documentation standards.
