Construction Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist

Riverside, CA | On-Site
$27-$30/hour | Full-Time


An established specialty contractor in the Riverside area is looking to add an experienced Accounts Receivable / Construction Billing Specialist to its accounting team.


This position supports active construction and service work and is a good fit for someone who understands the pace and documentation requirements that come with construction accounting. You’ll work closely with project teams, operations, customers, and accounting to keep billing accurate, receivables moving, and project records organized.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable and billing activity for assigned accounts and projects
• Prepare and process customer invoices according to contract requirements and billing schedules
• Coordinate with Project Managers and operations teams to maintain accurate job and billing information
• Track billing deadlines and follow up internally to make sure invoices are submitted on time
• Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections
• Apply customer payments and research payment or billing discrepancies
• Prepare and track conditional and unconditional lien waivers
• Maintain required lien releases and supporting construction documentation
• Assist with progress billing and other project-specific billing requirements
• Review billing and job cost information for accuracy and identify potential discrepancies
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with project financial closeout
• Support accounting leadership with reporting, research, and other projects as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or related accounting experience
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience with construction billing and collections highly preferred
• Familiarity with progress billing, lien waivers/releases, and project accounting is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to catch discrepancies
• Comfortable managing a high volume of transactions and competing deadlines
• Strong communication and follow-through skills
• Ability to work independently and stay organized without constant supervision
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and standard office systems
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting or finance education is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

$27-$30/hour , depending on experience.
