Job Description: Required Skills / Certs / Exp: Minimum Years of Experience: 3 yrs pre/post cath lab - May Screen for less if traveler has sheath pull & cardiac med exp. Traveler Experience: Unit does NOT accept 1st time travelers. Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes. Skills: Pulmonary Artery Lines and Triage experience. Sheath pull & cardiac med exp. Pre/Post Cath Lab procedures. Certs: BLS and ACLS. Preferred Skills / Certs / Exp: Charge Nurse and Conscious Sedation experience.

Job Details: Will accept 13 or 26 week contracts. Ratios: N/A pre post area. Shift: 4x9 rotating schedule - 0600-1500, 0700-1600, 0800-1700, or 1200-2000 (48 hours guaranteed). RTO: 7 days MAX. Float Requirement: Required to cardiac units. Weekend Requirement: No weekends. Call: No on-call. Holidays: No holidays.

Patient Diagnoses: Our outpatient cardiac area nurses check in and get cardiac cath patients, ep patients and radiology patients ready prior to procedure. They start I.V.'s, sign consent with the patient, give ordered pre procedure medications as well as go through Novant's EPIC questioner.

Special Procedures / Unit Details: Manage cath/EP and radiology patients post procedure. Manage access sites, both arterial and venous, both femoral and radial. This includes radial compression bands, femoral closure devices, venous sutures and pulling femoral sheaths. Cath patients - same day discharges of patients who are post PCI, so they will need to know DTAP and post cath care in that capacity. EP post device cases and ablations. Radiology is managing post biopsy and invasive procedures.

Special Equipment: Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR.

Unit Orientation: 24 hours. Scrubs: Any color scrubs.
