LOCATION: Hybrid (on-site + remote)

REPORTS TO: Director of College Success

STATUS: Full-time, Non-exempt

OPPORTUNITY

The College & Career Fellows provide the most direct support to scholars and families by providing guidance for succeeding in college and the workforce, assisting with financial aid application, facilitating college readiness, hosting success workshops, and representing the organization at fundraising and appreciation events. Fellows tend to be recent college graduates who can relate to the backgrounds of the students we serve. This position is a 3-year commitment and offers broad professional development to prepare Fellows for career advancement opportunities in the workforce.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL

To perform the essential functions of this position, employees may be required to:

• Sit, stand, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
• Have close-vision ability due to computer work.
• Engage in moderate, occasional lifting.
• Have a reliable means of transportation to attend regular work as well as other off-site business functions.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Student-centered Success: Deliver impactful and engaging programming, resources, and support that empowers students to achieve their college and career success goals.
• School & Community Engagement: Build and sustain trusted relationships with essential site stakeholders to seamlessly integrate 10,000 Degree programming with partner schools and organizations.
• Data-informed Documentation: Accurately and consistently manage student and program performance metrics to track impact and improve outcomes.
• Professional Readiness: Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional career development, operational readiness, and collaborative teamwork throughout your Fellowship.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Scholar Support

• Advise and lead students and families through college and career planning, including financial aid guidance, application assistance, degree-success pathing, and other supports to ensure a confident educational journey.
• Deliver curriculum and training to students and families participating in 10,000 Degrees programs.
• Directly manage an assigned caseload or targeted group of students.
• Be present on-campus for student outreach and engagement up to four times per week.
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with school personnel, community partners, and program participants as well as families via meetings and workshops.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date data files; generate program reports for analysis.

General Responsibilities

• Travel regularly within assigned region(s) to partner school campuses, 10,000 Degrees offices, and special event locations.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and supervisor check-ins.
• Support and represent 10,000 Degrees at fundraising and appreciation events as needed.
• Execute other duties as assigned to support the organization’s evolving needs.
• This position requires some in-person presence, travel within the regions served, and occasional evening and/or weekend hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience in a client- or student-service position
• Geographic proximity to the region(s) being served and a reliable means of transportation to accommodate required regional travel
• Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
• High level of professionalism including promptness, preparedness, and professional appearance
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Strong administrative, organization, and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite applications
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and initiative, including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Willingness to learn and be self-reflective
• Lived experience aligned with the communities served by 10,000 Degrees (e.g., first-generation college graduates or low-income background) is highly valued
• Alumni of 10,000 Degrees scholarships a plus
