Lead Technician I

Pay Range: $22.51-$28.14 hourly (DOE) Branch Location: 1111 E. Citrus St., Suite 7, Riverside, CA 92507 Job Summary The Lead Technician I must be able to lead each phase of the mitigation and/or environmental project from the initial stage to completion. This position reports directly to the Supervisor and may be co‑managed by the Project Manager and/or Branch Manager of that location. Interfacing with other departments within the company may be required. Key Responsibilities Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders including Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, and Project Coordinator to discuss project schedules, scope changes, material needs, and personnel resources. Perform tasks to expedite project completion, such as picking up and ordering materials, moving client contents, and performing necessary repairs to the highest quality while adhering to code regulations and industry standards. Lead a small group of technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters. Maintain company‑assigned vehicle and restock supplies as necessary. Complete and turn in crew sheets and job notes at the end of each day. Enforce company policy and safety procedures while performing services. Mentor and coach technicians to develop their skills. Assist in job‑site safety briefings and provide training within scope of knowledge. Complete timecards timely and accurately, ensuring crew members do the same. Turn in completed work orders, including measurements, moisture readings, and necessary detailed paperwork for project billing. Maintain trade skills through regular training and continue building knowledge of company services and standard practices. Experience & Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience as a lead technician in construction, restoration, or mitigation, or equivalent experience as a Tech III. Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record. Insurable status. Strong understanding of safety guidelines and ability to enforce them with crew. Knowledge of company handbook, policies, SOPs, and adherence to guidelines. Ability to support technician development through demonstration and encouragement. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and miscellaneous equipment. Growth mindset, open to feedback, and model learning for others. Good grasp of the English language (reading, writing, speaking). Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to pass a respirator physical and obtain a respiratory fit exam. Ability to interpret and apply basic instructions such as Material Data Sheets. Industry certifications preferred; ability to pass required medical exams. Safety Requirements Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards. Use required PPE (gloves, masks, goggles, hard hats, safety footwear) as appropriate for each role and job site. Practice ergonomic principles to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. Follow office safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment. Complete all mandatory safety training sessions. Report unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, or injuries promptly to supervisors. Familiarize with emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and emergency contacts. Physical Requirements Lift and carry materials up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Perform tasks that involve walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, climbing, squatting, crawling, lifting above shoulder, and twisting. Prolonged sitting or standing may be required (office, driving, or job sites). Alternate between sitting and standing as needed. Perform repetitive motions, including hand and wrist movements for typing or data entry. Operate machinery and tools requiring fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination. Maintain clear vision for close work, computer use, and eye coordination. Working Conditions Office Environment Indoor office setting with standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers). Meetings may be in person or via Zoom. Field Environment Outdoor fieldwork at restoration sites (residential, commercial, industrial). Duties may involve exposure to various weather conditions. Hazardous Environments Potential exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, or contaminants; strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE is required. Work may occur after hours and weekends due to 24/7 operations. Travel Requirements Travel to and from job sites using company vehicles; possible travel to out‑of‑town training or conferences.
