Lead Technician III

Job Summary The Lead Technician III leads a large team of technicians through each phase of the project from initiation to completion. This position reports directly to the Supervisor and may be co‑managed by the Project Manager or Branch Manager. It requires interfacing with other departments within the company. Key Responsibilities Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders (Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, Project Coordinator) to discuss project schedules, scope changes, materials, and personnel resources. Perform and/or direct staff to complete tasks such as picking up and ordering materials, moving client contents, and repairing with the highest quality while adhering to code regulations and industry standards. Lead a group of 8 or more technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters. Oversee and ensure maintenance of company‑assigned vehicles and restock supplies as necessary. Complete and turn in crew sheets and job notes at the end of each day. Serve as a role model in following and enforcing company policy and safety procedures while performing services. Assist in the development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, equipping, and encouraging skill growth. Assist in job‑site safety briefings and provide training within scope of knowledge. Act as a Site Safety Representative, applying industry standards, safety training, and company policies to enforce safety guidelines. Review and ensure accuracy of completed time‑cards, ensuring timely submission, and ensure crew members do the same. Turn in completed work orders, including measurements, moisture readings, and detailed paperwork for Project Manager billing. Maintain trade skills through regular training provided by the company. Continuously build knowledge of company services, operations, and standard practices to support professional growth. Experience & Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience as a lead technician in construction, restoration, or mitigation field, or equivalent experience through successful performance as Lead Tech II. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (Class C). Must be insurable. Thorough understanding of safety guidelines and application of safety knowledge to daily tasks. Successfully completed Site Safety Representative training. In-depth knowledge of company SOPs and adherence to guidelines, sharing with crew through daily activities. Responsible for the development of technicians, encouraging growth opportunities. Expertise in the use of hand tools, power tools, and related equipment to complete tasks. Good grasp of the English language (read, write, verbal). Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Ability to pass Respirator Physical and obtain respiratory fit exam. Ability to interpret and apply complex plans, details, and instructions (e.g., material data sheets) and articulate them to crew. Industry certifications preferred; must pass required medical examinations for certification if applicable. Safety Requirements Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards. Wear required PPE such as gloves, masks, goggles, hard hats, and safety footwear. Complete pulmonary function and respirator fit tests to ensure suitability. Be aware of physical hazards such as vibration, falls, temperature extremes, and noise. Handle chemicals (solvents, adhesives, paints, cleaning agents) safely to maintain a safe environment. Be aware of biological hazards like mold and bacteria common in restoration settings. Complete mandatory safety training sessions (hazard communication, emergency response, equipment handling). Immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, or injuries to supervisors. Familiarize with emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and contacts. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance. Perform tasks requiring walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, climbing, squatting, crawling, lifting above shoulder, twisting. Continued sitting and standing in office, driving and/or at job sites; alternate as needed. Engage in repetitive motions and tasks involving hand movement (typing, data entry). Operate machinery and tools requiring fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination. Maintain clear vision for close work, computer use, and hand‑eye coordination. Working Conditions Office Environment Indoor office setting for corporate roles; use of computers, phones, printers; regular meetings (in person or Zoom) and collaboration with team members. Field Environment Outdoor fieldwork at restoration sites, including residential, commercial, or industrial properties, with exposure to varying weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, heat). Hazardous Environments Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, or contaminants specific to restoration work; strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE. Work after hours and weekends due to 24/7 business operations. Travel Requirements Travel to and from job sites, use of company or personal vehicles; potential attendance at out‑of‑town trainings, meetings, or conferences. Benefits Full‑time positions.
