Job Title: Correctional Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Correctional Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience required License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, MOAB (facility will provide) Must-Have: MOAB certification required or willingness to complete training during the first week Description: No locals within a 100-mile radius. Candidates must be able to pass a facility background check. MOAB certification is required. If the traveler does not already have the MOAB certification, they will receive a 4-hour de-escalation course during their first week. If they do not pass, their contract may be subject to cancellation. The facility capacity is approximately 1,950 inmates, with an average daily population fluctuating around 1,640. The Registered Nurse will provide patients with routine and emergency healthcare. The Registered Nurse will conduct health assessments and make necessary referrals to providers, including detoxification, dental, and mental health professionals. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for triaging and assessing new patients, conducting detox rounds per protocol, as well as urgent care and sick calls. Special requirements include phlebotomy, starting IVs, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration. All candidates should have the ability to manage the patient's health and be familiar with isolation precautions. The work environment includes a variety of patient populations, including adults and geriatrics. The average daily census can vary significantly, with fluctuation expected based on the facility's population. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support staff for optimal patient care.
