Foundry’s mission is to help people do their life’s work. We are building a nationwide network of tech-enabled trade schools to train the people who will build and run America’s critical infrastructure. We’re creating new pathways into the skilled trades, allowing our trainees to build lasting careers, support their families, and contribute to their communities. Starting with electrical, we combine rigorous hands‑on instruction, close employer relationships, and new learning technologies to offer our trainees the best possible job opportunities via highly accelerated training programs. We’re looking for exceptional teachers and operators to help us build a lasting vocational institution. Lead the operations of a new trade school and help Foundry reinvent vocational training from the ground up, starting with electrical. This is a full-time, onsite role in Abilene, Texas. You must live there permanently or relocate permanently for the job. Pay range: $125,000-$250,000 per year. You’ll run a Foundry campus, working closely with the instructors. You’ll be accountable for campus outcomes, the quality of the student experience, employer and community relationships, and a reliable operation within budget. The role combines the responsibilities of a school principal with a willingness to do the janitor’s work. You set the standard for the school and take care of the practical details that keep it running. The buck stops with you: you do what it takes, big or small, and take responsibility for seeing it through. What you will do Own campus performance from launch onward: set clear goals, track results, identify what is falling short and drive corrective action. Manage staffing, schedules, purchasing, inventory and spending to deliver those outcomes. Work closely with instructors to build a culture of excellence, accountability and pride in the work. Hold a high bar for students, staff and the quality of the school. Build relationships with local employers, understand their needs and coordinate opportunities without overpromising. Monitor attendance, student progress and operating issues; solve problems early and elevate when needed. You take responsibility for the result. When something threatens a campus outcome, you identify the problem, develop options, bring in the right people and drive it to resolution. You act without waiting to be assigned every task, elevate early when you need help, and find resourceful ways to deliver with limited time and resources. What you bring An ownership mentality: the buck stops with you. You are scrappy, resourceful and deeply detail‑oriented, with evidence that you deliver results and follow through on the small things as well as the big ones. You are as comfortable at a town hall meeting as you are working with trainees. You build trust, communicate clearly and bring strong local employer and community relationships. Sound judgment about spending, priorities, accountability and when to ask for help. Permanent residence in Abilene, Texas, or willingness to relocate there permanently for this full‑time, onsite role. You may have run a production team, construction project, facilities operation, service business or startup function. You may come from consulting and have a record of implementing what you recommended. You may be a foreman or supervisor who already owns scheduling, people, vendors and budgets. We care about the outcomes you personally delivered, how you handled the details, and your ability to earn the trust of students, instructors and employers. What success looks like Streamlined operations and scalable systems. The campus runs reliably, with clear responsibilities, accurate records and consistent follow‑through. You build and improve systems that can scale as Foundry grows, integrating AI and our internal platform to reduce administrative work and improve execution. Strong community and employer relationships. Foundry earns a trusted local reputation through strong relationships with employers, community partners and prospective trainees. Employers see the school as a dependable source of talent, and prospective trainees understand the opportunity and standards it offers. A world‑class learning and training environment. Working closely with instructors, you build a school grounded in hands‑on learning, accountability, integrity and a high bar of excellence. Students develop practical competence and professional habits, with training and employer engagement focused on preparing them for jobs and supporting successful placement. How you’ll work Foundry’s internal platform is central to how we work. You’ll use it closely, work with the team building it, and help improve it through feedback from the campus. Openness to implementing AI across every part of your role is a prerequisite for success. You don’t need to arrive knowing every tool. You do need to learn quickly, experiment, rethink established workflows and take responsibility for the quality of the result.
