Family Law Associate Attorney

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload involving international family law issues, high-conflict custody disputes, complex divorces, relocation matters, child abduction cases, and financially intricate family law matters.
• This role offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, courtroom experience, and the opportunity for long-term professional growth within a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Manage a caseload involving international family law matters, including child custody disputes, divorce, relocation, child abduction, and complex financial issues.
• Develop legal strategies and oversee cases from inception through resolution.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including motions, hearings, and trials.
• Represent clients during mediations and arbitrations.
• Conduct all phases of discovery, including depositions.
• Prepare legal pleadings, motions, briefs, and other written work product.
• Perform legal research and provide strategic recommendations.
• Build strong relationships with clients while providing compassionate guidance through sensitive legal matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver exceptional client service.
• Participate in networking, business development, and marketing initiatives to support the continued growth of the practice.

Qualifications

• Active membership in the Washington State Bar.
• Minimum of 2 years of Washington family law experience.
• Experience handling family law litigation, including courtroom appearances.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent case management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
• Professional maturity, emotional intelligence, and sound judgment.
• Flexibility to collaborate across international time zones when necessary.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with a desire to contribute to a collaborative office culture.
