Unit Aide

Overview Location: Mesa, Arizona, Department: Banner Staffing Services-AZ. Shift: Day. Category: Clinical Care. This position is a Unit Aide supporting surgical care in the Operating Room. The role includes maintaining a clean, safe and ready environment by turning over rooms, restocking linens and supplies, and assisting with patient and supply transport. Responsibilities Inventory, order, replenish, and disperse supplies within the department; ensure availability and adherence to sterile packaging standards. Maintain unit equipment, instruments and trays; clean, assemble and replace as required; liaise with technology management for repairs. Maintain clean and safe work environment: discard soiled linen, sanitize rooms, treat debris with disinfecting and mop. Provide basic hands‑on patient care per supervisor request, including transport and ambulation. Support department with administrative tasks, greeting/assisting patients, visitors, physicians and ancillary staff; support Monitor Techs as required. Work under local supervision, focused on customer service with a fast‑paced environment. Minimum Qualifications BLS certification required. Minimum six months of healthcare experience; excellent organizational, communication and human relations skills. Proficient in medical terminology. For Banner Registry and Travel positions, minimum one year experience as a Unit Aide in an acute care hospital within the past twelve months. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Knowledge of patient‑related supplies, materials, equipment, and aseptic techniques.
