Hours per Week: 36-40 hours

Employment Type: Travel Contract

Certifications Needed: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Experience: Minimum 1 year RN acute care experience (First-time travelers require 2 years of perm staff experience)

Hourly Pay Rate: $48.24/hour

What You'll Do

• Deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to telemetry patients with complex needs, including transplant and medical-surgical patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, read and interpret EKGs, and respond appropriately to cardiac events
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips (non-titrated), and assist with wound care, IV initiation, and blood draws
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members such as RTs, PTs, OT, and hospitalists
• Document patient assessments and updates accurately in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
• Support float coverage across units, providing flexible staffing support
• Engage with a team of resource nurses, charge nurses, and educators to ensure optimal patient outcomes

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• 1+ year of acute care RN experience; 2+ years for first-time travelers
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam

• Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry
• Knowledge of chest tubes, dialysis patients, and cardiac drips
• Strong clinical skills in IV initiation, wound care, and patient assessment

About the Assignment Join a well-equipped, Stroke Certified and Chest-pain accredited facility in Bossier City, Louisiana, with 325 licensed beds and specialized units including Transplant and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry. The unit offers a structured environment with dedicated support staff, including resource nurses, RTs, and hospitalists, ensuring you have everything needed for a successful placement. You'll work a 12-hour night schedule, including every other weekend and major holiday coverage, within a supportive team focused on delivering exceptional patient care.
