What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality nursing care for medical, surgical, and telemetry patients with complex needs, including CHF, post-catheterization, Pacemaker, Dialysis, and COPD cases
• Monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry systems and interpret results accurately
• Administer non-titrating cardiac medications such as Dobutamine, Cardizem, and Heparin
• Conduct post-surgical assessments and provide patient stabilization and recovery support
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, RTs, OT, PT, and ST for optimal patient outcomes
• Assist with patient education and discharge planning
• Maintain EMR documentation using Meditech Expanse and follow unit protocols

What You Need

• Valid nursing license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical or Telemetry RN experience in an acute care environment
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation, PIV, central line care skills preferred
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

About the Assignment
Join a supportive, traveler-friendly team within a facility known for its collaborative culture. The unit features approximately 6-7 nurses per shift, with robust support from resource nurses, in-house phlebotomy, RT, hospitalist, and therapy teams. You'll be working in a modern environment equipped with Meditech Expanse EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing. Orientation includes a day of hospital training plus 2-3 shifts on the unit. Scheduling involves every other weekend rotation, with workdays typically consisting of four or three shifts per week, and opportunity for up to 7 days of paid time off.
