Cashier - Server

Destiny Coast, La Jolla's premier coastal dining destination, seeks dedicated Cashiers to join our service team. This position is essential in maintaining our high standards of service and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Position Overview The Cashiers plays a vital role in our service team, ensuring smooth dining operations and superior guest experience. This position requires an energetic, detail-oriented individual who can maintain a fast pace while delivering attentive service in our Mediterranean-meets-Southern California dining establishment. Guest Service Greet guests in a timely manner Have full knowledge of the menu and offerings Have full knowledge of POS system Experience with toast preferred but not required Work with Kitchen staff to ensure customers are receiving their food items in a timely manner Check in on guests throughout their dining experience Service Support Clear and reset tables promptly and efficiently Deliver food and beverages to guests with proper timing and presentation Support servers in maintaining table maintenance throughout service Assist in opening and closing duties Stock service stations with necessary supplies Polish silverware, glassware, and plates Maintain water service for all guests Support special events and member functions Dining Room Maintenance Keep dining room and service areas clean and organized Conduct regular restroom checks throughout service Clean restrooms as needed and maintain supply inventory Ensure proper setup of tables according to standards Maintain orderly appearance of service stations Assist with general cleaning duties including: Sweeping and mopping floors Vacuuming carpeted areas Dusting furniture and fixtures Sanitizing high-touch surfaces Report any maintenance issues to management Assist in deep cleaning projects as assigned Work effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff Facilitate efficient communication between front and back of house Coordinate with kitchen staff for smooth food service flow Communicate guest needs to appropriate team members Support other sections during peak periods Assist in training new team members Participate in pre-shift meetings Report guest feedback to management Safety and Sanitation Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols Follow proper cleaning product usage guidelines Maintain clean and sanitized work areas Follow proper food handling procedures Maintain personal hygiene standards Required Qualifications Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Food Handler's certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days) Must be 18 years or older Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of proper table service techniques Understanding of food and beverage service Additional language skills Previous experience with POS systems Schedule and Availability Weekend and holiday availability (excluding Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day) Ability to work lunch and dinner service Available for special events and member functions Standards of Conduct Punctuality and consistent attendance are mandatory Professional appearance and hygiene required Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Progressive disciplinary policy includes: Verbal Warning Written Warning Termination Conduct that interferes with or adversely affects business operations may result in immediate disciplinary action Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Capable of lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds Ability to bend, reach, and move continuously during shifts Manual dexterity for carrying plates and glassware Physical stamina for high-volume service periods Ability to navigate stairs while carrying trays What We Offer Competitive hourly rate plus tip share Growth opportunities within the organization Professional training and development Beautiful coastal work environment Team-oriented atmosphere Training Program Food safety and sanitation procedures Proper carrying and clearing techniques Table maintenance and setup standards Safety and emergency procedures #J-18808-Ljbffr Valid8 Financial, Inc.
