Role Summary: In essence, an insurance verification specialist is responsible for verifying accurate insurance benefit information in a timely manner. The position may be located in physician offices, hospitals, nursing homes, or other healthcare facilities The pay for this role is $32/hr-$34/hr The hours for this role are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Job Duties: Benefit Verification: Contacting insurance carriers or utilizing payer portals to verify active coverage, deductibles, co-pays, and network status prior to appointments. Patient Communication: Notifying patients of their out-of-pocket costs, explaining coverage details, and setting up payment arrangements. Clear communication of patient benefit information relayed to intake and billing teams. Documentation : Accurately updating billing systems and electronic health records (HER) with verified demographic and insurance policy data. Dispute Resolution : Collaborate with clinical staff, provider offices, and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies or missing information.
