We are looking for a detail-oriented Receptionist to support front desk operations for a non-profit organization in New Orleans, Louisiana. This short-term contract position is ideal for someone who creates a welcoming experience for visitors while keeping daily administrative and communication tasks organized. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office setting.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests, staff, and community visitors with a courteous and welcoming presence at the front desk.

• Manage a multi-line phone system, direct incoming calls appropriately, and relay messages in a timely manner.

• Coordinate appointment scheduling and maintain calendars to support smooth daily operations.

• Handle email communication appropriately, responding to inquiries or routing messages to the correct contacts.

• Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records for administrative and front office activities.

• Provide general administrative support to the site by assisting with routine office tasks and visitor check-in procedures.

• Support coverage across assigned front desk areas as needed, including locations where all candidates are required to undergo screening.

• Help maintain an orderly reception area and ensure front office processes run efficiently throughout the assignment.

• Previous experience in a receptionist, front desk, or customer-facing administrative role.
• Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system with confidence and professionalism.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a welcoming communication style.
• Proficiency in data entry and general office administration with close attention to accuracy.
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook for email and scheduling tasks.
• Ability to manage appointments, prioritize responsibilities, and stay organized during busy periods.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for handling phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Willingness to complete required screening procedures for assigned front desk coverage, if applicable.
