Senior Shelter Compliance OfficerThe City of San Jose's Housing Department is currently recruiting for one (1) Senior Shelter Compliance Officer (Senior Development Officer). The Senior Shelter Compliance Officer position is part of the Homeless Response Division and will be assigned a wide range of responsibilities. The position will oversee activities and programs within the Homeless Response Division, which focuses on the City's expansive response to homelessness. This includes managing programs offering individuals and households experiencing homelessness with street-based services, crisis response interventions, and housing-based solutions, as well as engaging the broader City community regarding homelessness and homeless encampments.Responsibilities included but are not limited to:Supervising Development Officers.Overseeing property management and maintenance for Housing Department-owned properties.Serving as the Housing Department's liaison to other City departments.Coordinating prevailing wage compliance for interim housing projects.Managing maintenance and rehabilitation of City-owned hotels, motels, interim housing sites, and emergency housing communitiesReviewing property conditions, prioritizing repair projects, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance work.Working with contractors, consultants, property managers, and City departments to address facility issues.Monitoring project budgets, schedules, and contract performance.Ensuring regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal housing requirements.Drafts memorandums, reports, and prepares presentation material for Department leadership.Develop and monitor program budgets.Track expenditures and funding sources.Salary range for this classification is $140,846.16 - $171,509.52 annually. This salary range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation.
