Maintenance Technician/General MaintenanceMaintenance Department, Newark, DEReports To: Property Manager/Maintenance SupervisorHours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pmCompensation: $22 - $28 Hourly + Benefits (based on experience and certifications)SummaryPerform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessaryImplement preventative maintenance measuresMaintain inventory of repair equipment and suppliesComplete inspections of buildings, units, office and amenity space as neededRespond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocolPerform other maintenance duties as requestedClean criminal background requiredEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAbility to work with and repair drywall and paint drywall surfacesPerform basic maintenance tasks and general repairs including plumbing, roofing, appliance moving and repairMaintain common areas and grounds of the propertyMust be able to access and inspect property grounds by way of climbing ladders, stairwells, rooftops, confined areas, etc.Perform troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance, renovating and preparing vacant units to move in condition, outdoor grounds maintenance and property appearanceCandidates must possess basic hand tools, valid drivers license and have their own transportationMaintains building, performing routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities as neededQualifications And Preferred Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyMust have good communication skillsMust have basic knowledge of construction and repair processesMust have a valid driver's license, own transportation and toolsHigh school diploma/GED requiredPhysical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipmentGeneral maintenance knowledge and construction skillsAbility to comprehend instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manualsExhibits behaviors of honesty, commitment to goal achievement and effective relationships with colleaguesSelf-starter with the ability to quickly adapt to new circumstances as they ariseAbility to prioritize tasks and follow specified proceduresEducation and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceCertifications:Must have a valid drivers license & own vehicle.
