Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Shift: 12-hour nights - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Contract Length: 13 weeks - Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week

Minimum 2 years of acute care experience

Previous telemetry/stepdown experience required

Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NIHSS

Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management

Arterial line care and vasoactive/pressor drip titration experience

Central/PICC/peripheral line care, IV starts

Blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols

Chest tube and tracheostomy care, non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC)

Experience using rapid response teams; conscious sedation exposure

Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry readings for any abnormalities.

Administer medications and treatment as prescribed, including IV therapies.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

Respond to emergencies and provide care in accordance with protocols.

Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.

Scrubs: Navy, white, or a combination

Orientation: Hospital orientation required week one; modules must be completed prior to the start.

Pre-start modules and testing required.

Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed).
