Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantLHH is seeking a Staff Accountant for a temporary-to-hire opportunity with a client in Pasadena, CA. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role and wants exposure to a variety of accounting functions, including month-end close, general ledger activity, financial reporting, and analysis.Job Duties:Support the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliationsReview general ledger activity and research account discrepanciesAssist with the preparation of financial statements and internal reportingMonitor cash activity and support routine banking and deposit functionsMaintain accounting information related to fixed assets and inventoryAssist with sales incentives, bonus calculations, and related account activityPrepare and review budget-to-actual reporting and investigate significant variancesProvide accounting support for forecasting and project-related financial analysisWork with accounting leadership and other departments to resolve financial questions and maintain accurate recordsParticipate in special projects and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficienciesQualifications:2+ of professional accounting experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be consideredExperience with journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end closeWorking knowledge of GAAPExperience assisting with financial statement preparationStrong Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and formulasExperience working within an ERP or accounting systemStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentComfortable communicating and collaborating with individuals across different departments
