Sales Development Representative - Locum Tenens

Can you run a high-activity outbound day without going quiet at 2 p.m.? Interim Physicians is hiring a Sales Development Representative to find decision-makers at hospitals and physician groups, qualify locum tenens need, and hand clean opportunities to Account Executives who close.

This is a prospecting seat with a defined path to Account Executive—not a dead-end dialer job. You will shadow the AE’s first call on every lead you generate and learn the full locum tenens sale from first contact to coverage.

What you will own

Prospecting and outreach

\n
• High-volume outbound by phone, email, and LinkedIn into hospitals and direct physician groups in core specialties
\n
• Daily and weekly standards: 100 outbound calls , 2 hours of talk time , 50 outreach emails , and 10 new decision-maker or locum-influencer contacts added to Salesforce (Assist) each week—with verified email, specialty, and title
\n
• Work hunting territory and call lists at the direction of the Sales Director and Account Executives
\n
• Source with ZoomInfo, Definitive Healthcare, healthcare job boards, LinkedIn, and reverse-marketing of clinicians to open new demand
\n

Lead qualification and handoff

\n
• Ramp to 5 qualified leads per week / 20 per month in core specialties
\n
• Capture complete discovery in Assist at the point of handoff using the qualified-opportunity template
\n
• Hand off cleanly: need, specialty, decision process, current agencies, timing, and authority
\n
• Shadow the AE’s first screening call on every lead you generate
\n

• Built as a feeder to the Account Executive team
\n
• Promotion is performance-gated, with a minimum of 6 months in seat before consideration
\n
• Criteria: consistent lead targets, quality of opportunities (contract and placement conversion), locum tenens fluency, readiness observed in AE shadowing, and understanding of the full AE role
\n

Who thrives in this seat

Required

\n
• 1+ year of inside sales, SDR, client-facing recruiting outreach, or similar lead-generation work
\n
• Proven ability to sustain high-volume outbound activity
\n
• Proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable enterprise CRM
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication—credible with hospital administrators, medical staff leadership, and practice managers
\n
• Comfort with discovery conversations that uncover specialty need, current agency relationships, and decision-making authority
\n

Preferred

\n
• Healthcare, staffing, or locum tenens exposure
\n
• Familiarity with ZoomInfo, Definitive Healthcare, or similar sourcing tools
\n
• Ambition to promote into a quota-carrying AE seat
\n
