Job Title and ID Dietary Operations Manager (260002VZ) Organization Veterans Services Georgetown Location Southern Ohio Veteran's Home, 2003 Veterans Boulevard, Georgetown, 45121-0000, United States of America – OHIO – Brown County – Georgetown Compensation $32.35 per hour Schedule Full-time, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Primary Job Skill & Technical/Professional Skills Primary Job Skill: Medical Technical Skills: Food Services, Management, Nursing, Food Safety Inspection Professional Skills: Attention to Detail, Customer Focus, Developing Others, Problem Solving, Confidentiality Key Job Responsibilities Administers & manages the entire food service operation for all shifts at Ohio Veterans Home Georgetown Supervises frontline supervisors & lower-level food preparation & service staff Oversees fiscal controls of the dietary department Maintains required records per nursing home administration policies & provides education in proper nutritional follow-up plans by consulting with residents & families Plans & evaluates meals for regular, modified & special diets considering available foodstuffs, nutritional values & cost to ensure compliance with state & federal regulations, treatment plans & accreditation standards Visits residents & conducts interviews for dietary history & preferences; counsels residents on diets Inspects perishable foods for nutritional composition & quality & checks proper storage & rotation Consults with Nursing Home Administrator, Dietary Supervisors and Dietetic Tech to establish plans & procedures for dietary program Instructs food service personnel in basic dietetic principles, trains employees in quality standards, sanitation & storage Coordinates & maintains communication between dietary department & medical staff; recommends changes in dietetic program as needed Oversees ordering of food & supplies from vendors (e.g., paper products, dry goods, frozen food, vegetables, utensils, cookware, sanitation supplies, etc.) Prepares related records & reports Attends & conducts staff meetings; meets with Dietary Supervisors, dietetic technician to discuss changes &/or modifications; attends committee meetings Performs all other duties as assigned Qualifications Current licensure as a dietitian issued by the Ohio Board of Dietetics per Section 4759.06 of Revised Code; 18 months training or 18 months experience in state & federal guidelines & accreditation standards regarding dietetics/nutrition for an agency of employment; 18 months training or 18 months experience in employee training & development. Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure.
