Technology provides the foundation for everything we do in the company while driving differentiation through building and leveraging innovative technology and data insights.The Servicing Experiences Technology (SET) organization enhances Servicing Experiences by building smarter platforms with seamless automation and AI-driven insights- empowering Colleagues and Customers alike.Software Engineer leads the full software development lifecycle, ensuring high reliability and efficiency through collaboration, innovative solutions, and rigorous code standards.ResponsibilitiesAdvances the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systemsDrives the modification, documentation, and maintenance of software to ensure high reliability and availabilityCollaborates with cross-functional teams to address advanced technical challenges and optimize application performanceAnalyzes system requirements and delivers innovative technical solutions to enhance software quality and efficiencyCompletes code reviews and automated testing to maintain high-quality code standardsCollaborates and co-creates effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectivesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experienceKnowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, NoSQL and relational databasesKnowledge of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining of assigned application(s)Work Experience:Software engineering and development experience or a related jobExperience in application design, software development, and automated testingExperience in object-oriented design and coding with variety of languagesExperience in distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databasesExperience in Agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user storiesExperience in automation testing and documentation (i.e. automated, functional, and performance).Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
