Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Vertex Pharmaceuticals

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to serve as a strategic business partner to Regulatory and Quality leadership. The role focuses on financial planning, performance management, and leveraging analytics and emerging technologies to drive insights across R&D functions in Boston.

Responsibilities

Serve as strategic business partner to Regulatory and Quality leadership, providing financial counsel and insights
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for functional organizations
Conduct financial performance management with focus on key performance drivers and variance analysis
Perform monthly and quarterly accounting close, flux analysis, and SOX compliance activities
Identify and implement automation, AI, and advanced analytics opportunities to enhance reporting and forecasting

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related quantitative field
6+ years progressive finance experience in FP&A, business partnering, or related roles
Advanced Excel proficiency and strong PowerPoint skills
Experience with Hyperion or similar multidimensional databases; Tableau or Power BI preferred
Exceptional analytical and financial modeling capabilities
Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills across organizational levels
Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
