About the ProgramLocation: St. Petersburg, FLHours: 20–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling to accommodate class commitmentsWeekly gatherings with interns, managers, and executivesYou will gain valuable, real-world experience that will initiate a smooth transition into your careerAll internship opportunities are paidPrimary ResponsibilitiesSupport the accounting team in day-to-day operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activitiesAssist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliationsHelp prepare financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentationAssist in maintaining accurate and organized financial records in compliance with company policiesParticipate in internal audits, including testing internal controls, gathering supporting documentation, and summarizing findingsAssist in preparing schedules and documentation requested by external auditorsHelp ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and company policiesReconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and vendor accountsAssist with expense tracking, invoice processing, and payment runsHelp identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve accuracyPrepare reports and summaries for managers and executive leadershipAssist with various accounting and cross-functional projects as neededRequired Skills & CharacteristicsDetail-oriented, organized, and highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to quickly learn new concepts and adapt in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsSolid understanding of accounting fundamentalsProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelThe preceding position description has been designed to indicate the general nature of the work performed, the level of knowledge and skills typically required, and the usual working conditions of this position.
