The Construction Project Manager (CPM) plays a pivotal role in overseeing residential retrofit projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and effective project delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee residential retrofit projects from planning through completion Manage contractor relationships, ensuring accountability, quality, and adherence to timelines and budgets Assist in preparing and finalizing each participant’s scope of work Review and interpret residential building codes to ensure all work meets regulatory standards Conduct site visits, site inspections, and progress evaluations Work closely with installers to manage installation and QA/QC processes Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders, including homeowners, contractors, and internal teams Manage incentive layering coordination, follow-up surveys, and continuous improvement practices Identify and resolve project issues and risks proactively Support program participation efforts by building trust with clients and explaining project scope and benefits Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting Travel requirements: reliable vehicle for up to 25% local travel within Southern CA; mileage reimbursement provided What you will be doing Contractor management and oversight Project planning and initiation Project scheduling, execution, and monitoring Project budgeting and cost compliance Project closeout and documentation Coordination and communication Expected Outcomes Effective project execution and contractor coordination Positive stakeholder engagement and accountability Timely resolution of issues on projects Consistent communication on project scope, benefits, and next steps Greater transparency and alignment with community needs Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience (one year related experience may substitute one year of education) 5+ years of professional experience in Construction Management, Residential Building Retrofits, Energy Efficiency Upgrades, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and/or a related field Valid driver’s license and successful Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check Preferred Qualifications Bilingual or multilingual proficiency Contractor State License Board (CSLB) License Certification with BPI, LEED, USGBC, or other energy efficiency and building science organizations Familiarity with energy efficiency or sustainability practices in construction Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline Pay Range The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $89,261.00 – $151,744.00 (California Remote Office CA99) We are an equal opportunity employer.
