About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Strategic Communications to serve as its official spokesperson and the voice of the President. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and directing strategic communications that align with the university's brand and mission. This includes managing the News & Information team, leading public relations activities, and overseeing media relations. The role also involves writing and editing a variety of content, from speeches to digital media, and ensuring that all communications reflect the institution's values and priorities. The Executive Director will be expected to engage with the community, represent the university in a professional manner, and maintain industry standards in communications. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 6 years' professional experience, with a preference for those with a background in higher education. The role requires strong verbal, written, and editing skills, as well as the ability to manage crisis communications and measure the success of communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a trusted advisor, content creator, and project manager, and be adept at creating compelling content in various forms. Experience in issues management, and the ability to work with sensitivity and discretion, are essential. The position demands a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to the values of diversity, inclusion, and equity.
