Senior Accountant

Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)

Compensation: $80,000 - $140,000 DOE

A rapidly growing, privately held industry leader is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to support a dynamic organization experiencing significant growth while partnering closely with finance leadership on key accounting initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, experience supporting external audits and month-end close, and a passion for process improvement. This position is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys taking ownership of impactful projects.
Responsibilities

• Support and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Coordinate and support external audit activities, including audit schedules and documentation requests.
• Perform detailed financial and cost analyses to support operational decision-making.
• Ensure the accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and other key accounts.
• Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Participate in ERP enhancements, automation projects, and reporting improvements.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support business objectives.
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• CPA strongly preferred
• Big 4 or public accounting experience required
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and external audits.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
• Manufacturing, distribution, inventory, or cost accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, Pivot Tables, and lookup functions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
