Your Role Includes
- Conduct thorough evaluations across the pediatric, adult, and geriatric spectrums utilizing standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Craft personalized treatment strategies that address both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions that focus on aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate closely with a range of practitioners including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure integrated care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families to enhance progress after clinical sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the patient's journey.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly, adhering to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain at the forefront of advancements within the field.
Education Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Necessary Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
