Job Description:

The Business Process Consultant will support large, complex enterprise initiatives by analyzing, documenting, and improving business processes across multiple business units and stakeholders.

The role requires strong experience in business process analysis, business process reengineering, process improvement, organizational change, and project management . The consultant will facilitate cross-functional process-improvement efforts, document current-state and future-state processes, and support operational transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing business processes, workflows, and operational procedures.

• Lead and support business-process reengineering initiatives.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.

• Develop current-state and future-state process documentation.

• Create business-process maps and functional workflow diagrams.

• Facilitate process-improvement sessions involving multiple departments and organizational units.

• Coordinate activities across business units and stakeholders.

• Support organizational-change initiatives.

• Manage assigned projects and process-improvement activities.

• Document business processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Gather and clarify business requirements with functional teams.

• Lead business-process improvement efforts from analysis through implementation.

• Track assigned activities through end-to-end completion.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Interact with Accounting functional groups to communicate and clarify requirements.

• Support finance and accounting operations.

• Support fiscal year-end activities.

• Assist with financial reporting and budgeting processes.

• Support procurement and grants-management processes.

• Prepare policy and position-description documents.

• Develop functional flowcharts using Microsoft Visio or comparable tools.

• Use SharePoint for collaboration and document management.

• Prepare documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Communicate project status and process changes to stakeholders.

• Work under the general direction of senior-level management.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 7+ years of IT experience .

• Minimum 4+ years of experience performing:

  • Business Process Analysis

  • Business Process Reengineering

  • Process Improvement

  • Organizational Change Initiatives

• Minimum 2+ years of Project Management experience .

• Experience supporting large, complex, enterprise-wide projects.

• Experience coordinating across multiple business units and stakeholders.

• Experience facilitating process-improvement initiatives across multiple departments, agencies, or organizational units.

• Experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes .

• Experience documenting workflows and operational procedures.

• Strong business-process analysis and documentation skills.

• Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated experience leading business-process improvement initiatives.

• Knowledge and application of Finance and Accounting practices .

• Knowledge of Florida PALM .

• Knowledge and/or experience with the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) subsystem.

• Knowledge of State of Florida:
