Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking a Mid- to Senior-Level Trusts & Estates Associate for its Kansas City or St. Louis office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a nationally recognized, client-focused trusts and estates group advising high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, athletes, Fortune 500 companies, and nonprofit organizations on estate planning, wealth transfer, tax mitigation, and asset protection strategies.
Position OverviewThe ideal candidate will have:
3+ years of experience in estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, and sophisticated tax and asset protection planning
Experience counseling clients on gift and estate tax, charitable giving, trust formation and administration, and complex family structures
An LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is preferred but not required
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients and partners on customized estate and business succession plans, high-value trust structures, and sophisticated planning for multigenerational wealth.
Candidate QualificationsJ.D. and active Missouri bar admission required
Strong academic credentials
Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
Detail-oriented and able to manage complex planning matters
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-driven mindset
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-touch client environment
