Senior Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a well-established organization in the construction industry seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join their finance team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong GAAP knowledge, hands-on construction industry experience, and the ability to step in and immediately add value to daily and monthly accounting operations. Senior Staff Accountant (3–6 Month Contract) – Malvern, PA (Fully Onsite)

Pay Rate: $40–$48/hr Location: Malvern, PA (100% onsite) Duration: 3–6 months contract

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update client financial records
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support daily cash management functions
• Assist with the month-end close process
• Prepare and post general ledger transactions
• Track daily income and expense accruals
• Process vendor invoices and reconcile vendor accounts
• Prepare and file sales and use tax
• Generate financial statements, reports, and variance analyses
• Prepare audit schedules and documentation
• Monitor and maintain fixed assets
• Handle vendor 1099 filings
• Resolve compliance issues and maintain accounting accuracy
• Provide ad hoc reporting as needed
• Support annual budget planning and process improvements
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, including payroll and tax filing
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with construction accounting software is required
• Proven experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and audit documentation
• Ability to work onsite full-time and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
