Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Ensign Physical Therapy, you will work within a dynamic hospital setting that fosters collaboration and teamwork. You will have the opportunity to interact with a diverse patient population and work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver quality care. The facility operates from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy services based on the plans of care developed by the supervising physical therapist.
• Implement treatment strategies to relieve patient pain, restore functional mobility, and enhance physical capabilities.
• Guide patients through active and passive therapeutic exercises, ensuring proper techniques are used for maximum benefit.
• Conduct functional training activities including gait training, transfers, and prosthetic education to improve patient independence.
• Utilize various physical agents such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical modalities to support healing and recovery.
• Document patient responses to therapy and any changes in their condition, maintaining accurate clinical records within prescribed timeframes.
• Educate patients on the proper use of assistive devices like crutches, canes, orthotics, and wheelchairs to optimize their rehabilitation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives.
• Engage in continuing education and training programs to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising therapist or management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be directly involved in the rehabilitation of patients with varying degrees of physical impairments, ranging from post-operative recovery to chronic pain management. Our patient population includes individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and those with developmental or age-related impairments. Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program, holding an Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Possession of a current state license or certification for physical therapy assistance in California.
• Current CPR certification is a mandatory requirement.
• A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle that meets state and organizational insurance requirements.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred.
• Experience working in a hospital or related healthcare facility environment is advantageous.
• Demonstrated capability in utilizing electronic medical records to document patient care efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits
