The Healing Journey Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Huntington, New York. This full-time onsite position involves providing specialized psychiatric care in a school-based environment, focusing on improving the mental health and emotional well-being of students. With a salary range of USD 200,000 – 250,000 per year, this role offers competitive compensation reflective of experience and qualifications.

Work Environment

Regular business hours are from 9 am to 5 pm, ensuring a balanced work schedule conducive to personal well-being and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose mental health conditions in students.
• Manage medication plans by prescribing, monitoring, and evaluating treatment efficacy and making adjustments as necessary.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and school staff to provide integrated care that addresses both mental and physical health needs.
• Deliver crisis intervention and immediate support during students' emotional distress or mental health emergencies.
• Engage actively in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness and understanding of mental health issues in the school setting.
• Provide therapeutic support, including counseling and psychoeducation, to empower students and their families to manage mental health challenges.
• Maintain patient confidentiality by accurately documenting treatment plans and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on a diverse patient population of students from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will be instrumental in addressing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, and trauma-related issues. Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is required.
