Staff Accountant - Houston

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to build a strong foundation while gaining hands-on experience across a variety of accounting functions. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, eager to learn, and interested in developing a broad understanding of accounting within a professional services environment. Support day-to-day accounting activities across multiple areas of the business. Assist with Accounts Receivable (A/R), including payment processing and account follow-up. Assist with Accounts Payable (A/P), including invoice review, coding, processing, and vendor account maintenance. Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records. Assist with General Ledger activities and month-end close processes. Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies. Conduct account analysis to identify trends, variances, and unusual activity. Assist with preparation of financial and management reports. Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities. Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation. Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies. Take on additional accounting responsibilities and projects as skills and experience develop. 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred. Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team. Eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting profession.
