Bring your expertise in behavior intervention to a rewarding, contract position supporting students near McKinney, TX. This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week) offers you the chance to shape student success and collaborate within a dynamic educational environment. As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, your skills in assessment, planning, and behavioral support will be invaluable—not only to the students you serve but to the entire school community.
Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred
- Current Texas teaching certification with Special Education endorsements
- Previous experience in special education, social work, counseling, or a closely related field
- Background as a school counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), or in psychology/social work field is a plus
- Familiarity with the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Proven ability to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and managing effective BIPs tailored to individual student needs
- Conducting thorough FBAs to inform behavioral strategies and interventions
- Collaborating and participating in ARD, IEP, RtI, and 504 meetings, providing expert input on student progress
- Supporting classrooms and staff, serving as a resource for crisis intervention and behavior management
- Fostering positive and proactive relationships among students and staff
