A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Manager of IP Prosecution to lead its patent and trademark operations. This role provides firmwide oversight of IP prosecution functions, ensuring efficient docket management, high-quality support, and compliance across domestic and international matters. Responsibilities
- Oversee IP prosecution dockets (patents, trademarks, copyrights)
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IP professionals and support staff
- Develop and implement workflows, best practices, and process improvements
- Assign work, monitor performance, and support staff development
- Track changes in IP laws and ensure compliance across jurisdictions
- Serve as liaison between attorneys, vendors, and internal teams
- Manage complex IP projects and support case intake and file transfers
- Oversee departmental budget, records management, and file operations
- Provide hands-on support as needed
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of patent prosecution experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role
- Experience with IP systems (e.g., USPTO tools, Inprotech; SAEGIS/Coresearch a plus)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with flexibility for additional hours and occasional travel
