Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating materials management activities to ensure efficient and effective operations within an organization.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required

• Experience in materials management, inventory control, or a related field, with some experience in a supervisory or lead role 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of materials management principles, inventory control practices, and logistics operations.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management software, spreadsheet applications, and other relevant tools.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and other departments.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address inventory discrepancies and process inefficiencies.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to materials handling and storage.

Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities):

• Supervise a team of materials management professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure team effectiveness and productivity.

• Oversee inventory levels, including accurate tracking, monitoring, and reporting of stock levels, and implement strategies to optimize inventory accuracy and minimize stockouts.

• Coordinate the receiving and inspection of incoming materials, ensuring compliance with quality standards and documentation requirements.

• Manage storage areas, ensuring efficient space utilization, proper organization of materials, and adherence to safety regulations and best practices.

• Coordinate the movement and distribution of materials to production areas or workstations, ensuring timely availability and accurate allocation.

• Collaborate with production planning and procurement teams to prioritize and fulfill material requests or orders, meeting production schedules and customer requirements.

• Ensure adherence to established materials management procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

• Identify training needs for the materials management team, provide coaching and support to enhance their skills and knowledge, and promote professional development opportunities.
