Title IX/DHR Investigator

Working Title Title IX/DHR Investigator Job Summary The Title IX/DHR Investigator conducts timely and equitable investigations of protected status discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual exploitation, dating and domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation for the entire campus community. The Investigator prepares comprehensive investigation reports, drafts correspondence with parties, recommends policy changes and training, and supports post‑investigation remedial actions. Responsibilities Conduct investigations and informal resolutions pursuant to CSU policies and applicable state and federal laws. Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and manage correspondence throughout the investigation process. Recommend changes to policies or operational practices and implement training to reduce recurrence of complaints. Coordinate post‑investigation remedial actions with affected students, employees, departments, and divisions. Assist in developing and delivering training programs/workshops on discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice. Attend off‑site locations and travel to campus minimum 4–8 times per year for essential functions such as team‑building, campus events, trainings, and audits. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, psychology, social work, law, or a related field. Trauma‑informed complaint investigation experience and ability to produce detailed, understandable reports. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and emotional intelligence skills with impartiality and rapport‑building. Ability to interpret and communicate policy information concisely to diverse constituents. Working knowledge of state and federal civil rights and education laws (e.g., Title IX, Title VII, VAWA, ADA, FERPA). Commitment to serving a diverse population with cultural competence and sensitivity. Analytical skills to define problems, establish facts, collect data, and draw logical conclusions. High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive issues. Self‑direction and case‑management skills for independent work in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work on campus and in person (eligible for hybrid telecommuting schedule). Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (e.g., Juris Doctorate, Master of Social Work) or certification in internal/private investigations. Two or more years of trauma‑informed, culturally competent Title IX, Title VII, or HR/Student Conduct investigations in higher education or a workplace setting. Experience applying diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice principles in the complaint resolution context. Experience developing and delivering workplace or educational training programs, preferably in the civil rights field.
