Job Description

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and supplies to ensure smooth operation of sterile processing services in a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment in compliance with safety and infection control standards.
• Operate and troubleshoot sterilization machinery and related electronic instrument tracking systems.
• Supervise and support team members, including Lead Technicians and non-certified staff, to meet daily workload demands.
• Monitor workflow, ensure timely processing of trays, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory control.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize sterile processing operations and adhere to regulatory guidelines.
• Enforce infection prevention protocols and proper handling procedures across all department functions.

Qualifications:

• Require a minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience.
• Demonstrate prior leadership or supervisory experience in a sterile processing environment.
• Maintain current CBSPD and/or CRCST certifications and a valid State license, if applicable.
• Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems and inventory management.
• Possess knowledge of AAMI ST79, AORN, CDC, and OSHA standards related to sterilization and infection control.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
