Medical Assistant/Admit Worker-Radiation Therapy-Fulltime-Los Alamitos-Days

Job Title

Incumbent performs non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting. Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties. Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System. Understanding of medical terminology. Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment. Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds. Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office. BLS Certification upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms. Outpatient experience. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting. Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays. Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese. Knowledge of medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms. Phlebotomy certification.
