About the Role

HUD is hiring a Head of Talent to lead end-to-end recruiting and build recruiting operations to hire top engineers and GTM leaders for a small, high-bar team. The role focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding exceptional technical and go-to-market talent while partnering with founders and team leads to define roles and processes.

Role

Head of Talent responsible for owning end-to-end recruiting across technical and GTM roles, building and optimizing recruiting operations and tooling, and partnering with founders and team leads to define role requirements, evaluation criteria, and interview processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own full recruiting lifecycle for engineering, product, and GTM hires
• Build and optimize recruiting ops and tooling; automate workflows where possible
• Partner closely with founders and team leads to define roles, evaluation criteria, and interview processes
• Source candidates through high-signal and unconventional channels
• Screen candidates for technical competence and product/market intuition
• Support onboarding and new hire ramp
• Help define and run performance review, leveling, and feedback systems

Requirements

• Experience hiring engineering, product, and GTM roles
• Comfortable evaluating candidates via portfolios and projects as well as resumes
• Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to engage credibly with candidates
• Highly organized with experience managing multiple roles and pipelines
• Strong instincts for talent quality and bar-setting
• Early-stage startup experience and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-have

• Track record of creative sourcing
• Familiarity with Ashby, Juicebox, and Clay
• Experience with vibe coding and using AI to automate workflows
• Exposure to or ownership of people/HR functions
• Experience evaluating non-traditional candidate profiles

• Company building infrastructure and a marketplace for RL training data and evaluations; customers include frontier labs, Fortune 500s, and startups
• Team size ~25 currently; company anticipates end state of 30-40 people
• Company stage: YC W25, raised funding (noting $15M and referenced 8-figure funding), scaling profitably
