Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity guiding young learners in a supportive, self-contained ESE classroom. As a Special Education Teacher, you will bring your expertise to an elementary setting, nurturing students with diverse needs and exceptionalities. You’ll be based at a single campus in Jacksonville's North West region, providing stability and consistency throughout the academic year.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Florida ESE certification
- General Education certification (K-6 or PK-3)
- Documented experience in self-contained special education classrooms
- Solid understanding of strategies to engage students at varying learning levels and with a range of exceptionalities
- Ability to complete required credentialing, including fingerprinting as dictated by Florida regulations (assistance provided through the process)
- Strong collaborative skills and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Your Role:
- Lead a self-contained ESE classroom at the elementary level, adapting instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with other educators, families, and support staff.
- Foster a safe and positive classroom climate that promotes learning and student growth.
- Track student progress, regularly communicating outcomes and strategies with caregivers and school teams.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and adhere to all district and state protocols.
Key Details:
- Full academic year contract: August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027
- Onsite, not open to VOCO/virtual arrangements
- 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)
- One school location (assignment to be confirmed), primarily with elementary students
