Manual Machinist

As a Manual Machinist at Group CBS, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing and production of precision parts. Your expertise in operating and setting up manual machine tools, including lathes and milling machines, will ensure high-quality components used in various industries. We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional who excels in problem-solving, teamwork, and precision work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Set up and operate manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision parts. Monitor machine operations, adjusting speed, feed, and depth of cuts as necessary. Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and gauges) to ensure that machined parts meet exact specifications. Select appropriate materials, tools, and fixtures for each job. Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are in proper working condition. Troubleshoot and address machine issues to minimize downtime. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve machining processes and overall production efficiency. Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment. Experience with soldering and welding is not required but is a plus. Potential travel may be required based on project needs.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings. Strong understanding of machining principles and precision measuring instruments. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machinery.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required Vocational training or certification in machining is preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent walking and standing for extended periods. Continuous repetitive hand motion. Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and continuous lifting of up to 15 pounds.
